Recently at CSW68, an event recognizing the critical importance of women’s health, gender equality and people’s universal right to health, WHO is participating at the 68th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), which took place in New York City in the United States from 11 to 22 March 2024, NGOs from across the world including; Equimondo, Sonke Gender Justice, Rutgers and more challenged ideas around the “REAL vs. UNREAL” of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. This dynamic exploration, centering specifically on women’s experience of online harms, ignited insightful conversations and actionable solutions.

At the heart of this event lay a critical examination of the intersection between technology and gender-based violence, delving deep into the realities faced by women navigating digital spaces. Participants journeyed through findings from new research spanning seven countries, shedding light on the pervasive nature of TFGBV and its impact on women worldwide.
